Privacy policy
This policy covers shaktisa.ca, the free sample, and the Shaktisa Permit Leads subscription. It says what personal information the service collects, where it is kept, and what is done with it.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
1. What we collect
When you request a free sample, the form asks for your name or business name, your email address, your trade, and your territory. The form also records the choices you make on it: whether you ticked the optional box for news and offers, and, if you arrived from the area-lock link, whether the area-lock interest box stayed ticked.
When you subscribe, checkout asks for your email address and your payment details. The payment details are entered on Stripe's pages, not on this site (see section 6).
When you use the members area, you enter your email address to receive a sign-in link. There is no password.
Using the territory checker does not create a record with your name or email address. It takes a trade and a postal code and shows published permit data.
2. Where it is kept
The site runs on Cloudflare. Sample requests and consent records are kept in a data store run for this service on Cloudflare (a key-value store). Records of subscription events sent by Stripe (a payment made, a payment failed, a subscription cancelled) are kept in the same kind of store. Those records hold the event type, the customer and subscription identifiers Stripe assigns, and the status Stripe reports. They do not hold card details.
3. What we use it for
- To send the free sample you asked for.
- To send subscribers the Monday digest, and service messages about their subscription, such as a failed payment, a cancellation, or a change to the subscriber terms.
- To send members their sign-in links.
- To send Shaktisa news and offers, only to addresses whose consent record says yes (see section 5).
- To answer email you send us.
4. What we never do
We never sell personal information.
We never add personal information to the permit records. The permit records contain no phone numbers, no email addresses, and no homeowner names, and we do not look those up from anywhere else.
Shaktisa does not use the permit records to contact anyone named on them. The records are project information, delivered to subscribers as published.
Nothing about you flows back to any partner or publication that pointed you to this site.
5. Your marketing consent, and the consent log
Marketing consent is separate from your sample request and from your subscription. The sample form's optional box is the consent: "Optional: email me Shaktisa news and offers from time to time. Your sample comes either way."
Every sample submission writes two records: your request, and a separate consent record. The consent record is written whether you tick the box or not. It holds your email address, your choice (yes or no), and the date and time. It exists so your choice, including a no, is on record and is honoured.
If your consent record says yes, we may send you news and offers, including a short set of follow-up emails about your own sample. Every marketing email carries a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops marketing email. Cancelling a subscription also ends marketing sends to that address. Neither action deletes your sample request or your consent record; section 9 covers deletion.
Consent records are kept while the service operates, so that a no stays a no.
6. Payments run through Stripe
Checkout, billing, and the billing portal run on Stripe's pages. Your card details go to Stripe and never pass through or rest on Shaktisa's systems. Stripe tells us whether a payment went through, and that is the record your members area shows. Information Stripe holds is covered by Stripe's own privacy policy.
7. Results on your leads: a store that is not switched on
Subscribers will be able to record, on each lead in their digests, whether they contacted, quoted, won, or lost the job, and an optional job value in Canadian dollars. That feature is built but not switched on. It is not offered in the members area or in the digest today, the store built for it holds no records, and nobody has recorded anything in it.
The rules for that store are already set, and they are stated here so they are on record before the feature is ever offered:
- Records in that store would be visible only to the subscriber who made them. Nothing in it is combined with other subscribers' records or shown to anyone else.
- Records would be kept while the subscription runs and for 90 days after the paid period ends. During those 90 days, the subscriber can ask by email for a copy of their records. After 90 days, the identifiable records are deleted.
- A subscriber can ask at any time, subscribed or not, for their records in that store to be deleted. Deletion is done within 30 days and confirmed to them by email.
- Billing records are not part of that store. They stay in Stripe under Stripe's retention, and the deletion promise in this section does not reach them.
8. How long we keep records
Sample requests and consent records are kept while the service operates, so requests can be fulfilled and consent choices honoured. Subscription event records are kept while your subscription is active. Section 7 states the retention for the results store, which is dormant.
You can ask for your records to be deleted at any time (section 9).
9. Your right to see, correct, or delete your information
You can email us at sales@shaktisa.ca at any time to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We respond to these requests within 30 days. Deletion is confirmed to you by email once it is done.
Deleting your records does not cancel a subscription. To cancel, use the members area or the Stripe billing portal. Billing records held by Stripe are covered by Stripe's policy, not this one.
10. How we protect it
Access to these records is limited to the people who operate Shaktisa. Sign-in is by an emailed link, so Shaktisa keeps no password for you. Card details never reach our systems (section 6).
11. Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. To count visits, its pages load one measurement script from Cloudflare, for Cloudflare Web Analytics. That service works without cookies and without fingerprinting: it records aggregate counts of visits and page views, the page visited, the site that referred you, visitors' country, browser and device type, and how long pages take to load. It does not identify you to us, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you across other sites. We use it only to see which pages are read and whether the site is working. There are no advertising trackers on this site. Checkout leaves this site for Stripe's pages, which are covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
12. Changes, and how to reach us
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with its date.
